Adobe After Effects Version
Videobolt uses and recommends Adobe After Effects 2022. If you are using an older or a newer version of Adobe After Effects, you may encounter issues with your template. Please update to Adobe After Effects 2022.
Expressions Engine
For Videobolt templates, you must use JavaScript as the expression language in Adobe After Effects. To set it up, go to the project settings in After Effects, navigate to the Expressions tab, and choose JavaScript instead of the Legacy ExtendScript engine. This ensures compatibility and optimal functionality within Videobolt's system.

      6. Template Names
To enhance the marketability and appeal of your templates on Videobolt, it's crucial to invest thought and creativity into the naming process. Crafting original and descriptive names for templates is a challenging yet essential task, as it tends to become repetitive given the similar animation styles, techniques, and elements often used. Through our experience in maintaining Videobolt, we've established a set of best practices for naming templates that effectively boost sales and attract a wider audience. These practices are designed to guide you in selecting names that stand out and resonate with potential users.
        ✅ Good practice
When naming your Adobe After Effects template for Videobolt, it's recommended to use a maximum of 24 characters, including spaces. This guideline is important because it ensures that the name of your template will be displayed correctly across various resolutions and devices. If the name is too long, it might get cut off or appear incomplete on some screens, potentially causing confusion or reducing the appeal of your template. Keeping the name within this character limit helps maintain its visibility and effectiveness in marketing and user searches.
When naming your Adobe After Effects template for Videobolt, it's advisable to use specific words that reference fixed elements of the template — elements that the user cannot modify, such as stripes, galaxy, trail, smoke, etc. This practice is beneficial for several reasons:
          Reasons:
      7. Clarity: Using specific words related to unchangeable elements gives a clear and accurate description of what the template includes. This clarity helps potential users understand at a glance what the core visual elements of the template are.
      8. Differentiation: Since these elements are fixed and unique to your template, using them in the name helps differentiate your template from others. This uniqueness can make your template stand out in a crowded marketplace.
      9. Broad Appeal: While these specific terms describe unchangeable elements, they do not limit the potential applications of the template. Users can still apply the template to various projects and contexts, as the unchangeable elements are often stylistic rather than thematic.
      10. Searchability: When users search for templates, they often have certain visual features in mind. By including these specific elements in the name, you increase the chances that your template will appear in relevant search results, thereby improving its visibility.
      11. Overall, this naming strategy strikes a balance between providing descriptive specificity and maintaining a wide range of applicability for your template.
        ⛔ Bad practice
When naming your Adobe After Effects templates for Videobolt, it's important to avoid using words that reference customizable elements of the template, such as Logo or specific colors like purple or green. Here's why:
        1. Avoiding Misconceptions: If you use words in the template name that refer to elements that users can change (like specific colors or the presence of a logo), potential users might mistakenly believe these elements are fixed. For instance, naming a template Green Energy Intro might lead users to think the color green is a permanent part of the template and can't be altered.
        2. Maintaining Flexibility Appeal: The strength of templates lies in their flexibility and adaptability. Users are often looking for templates they can tailor to fit their specific needs, including changing colors and other design elements. By not referencing customizable elements in the template name, you underscore the adaptability of your template.
        3. Broadening User Interest: When the template name doesn't specify changeable elements, it appeals to a broader audience. Users don't pre-emptively filter out the template based on a belief that it won't suit their specific color scheme or branding needs.
        4. Enhancing Marketability: Templates that seem more versatile and less restricted in their customization options are generally more appealing in the marketplace. This increased appeal can lead to better sales performance, as users feel more confident that they can modify the template to their liking.
        5. In summary, avoiding specific references to customizable elements in your template names helps to keep the perceived flexibility of your templates intact, making them more attractive to a wider range of users and potentially improving sales.
              ✅ Good
          1. Vortex Reveal
          2. Realistic Explosion
              ⛔ Bad
          1. Blue Vortex Logo Reveal
          2. Realistic Explosion Intro
Avoid using words that describe the originally intended industry or specific sector, such as fashion, food, travel, HR, etc. This guideline is significant for a few reasons:
          1. Maximizing Template Versatility: The templates you create are often adaptable and can be customized to suit a variety of industries or purposes. By not limiting the name to a specific industry, you highlight the template's flexibility and broad applicability.
          2. Avoiding Narrow Perceptions: If a template is named with a specific industry in mind, potential users from other sectors might overlook it, thinking it's not suitable for their needs. For example, a template named Fashion Promo might be equally effective for a technology product launch, but tech companies might skip it based on the name alone.
          3. Encouraging Creative Use: Generic or industry-neutral names encourage users to think creatively about how they can adapt the template to their specific needs. This can lead to more diverse applications of your template, potentially reaching a wider audience.
          4. Broadening Market Appeal: By avoiding industry-specific names, the template maintains a wider appeal, attracting users from various fields. This inclusivity can lead to increased interest and sales, as more users find the template relevant to their projects.
          5. In essence, avoiding industry-specific words in template names helps ensure that the templates are perceived as versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, thereby appealing to a broader audience and potentially increasing sales.
                ✅ Good
            1. Luxurious Media Fan
            2. Colorful Business Promo
                ⛔ Bad
            1. Fashion Opener
            2. Job Offer Promo
It's advised not to use numerical sequences to differentiate them. Instead, you should use descriptive words that reflect a key visual or thematic element of each template. This approach is beneficial for several reasons:
            1. Enhancing Descriptiveness: Using descriptive words like rectangle, stripe, bubbles (3D), or circles (2D) provides a clearer idea of the template's visual style or key elements. This descriptiveness helps potential users to quickly grasp the core aesthetic of each template in the series.
            2. Avoiding Impersonality: Numerical sequences (e.g., Template 1, Template 2) can make the templates feel impersonal and generic. Descriptive names add character and appeal, making each template in the series distinct and memorable.
            3. Facilitating Better Searchability: Descriptive names can improve searchability and SEO. Users often search for templates based on visual elements or styles they have in mind. Descriptive names that align with these search terms are more likely to appear in search results.
            4. Preventing User Confusion: Numerical naming can lead to confusion, especially if users encounter the series out of sequence. Descriptive names provide immediate context, regardless of the order in which users come across the templates.
            5. In summary, using descriptive words instead of numbers to denote a series of templates makes each template more appealing, distinctive, and user-friendly. It helps potential customers understand and remember the templates better, potentially leading to increased interest and sales.
