REACT
How to use
How does it work?
Beat React is an After Effects Preset exclusive to Videobolt. It measures the beat loudness of a track, ranging from 0 to 100, enabling easy synchronization of any property, like layer scale, with the audio's rhythm. This feature is designed specifically for Videobolt and is not functional outside of it. When a song is imported through the Author Tools Music Library, Videobolt not only imports the track but also includes a data layer with comprehensive beat information. To simplify this complex data, we offer the Author Tool 'Apply Beat React'. This tool attaches a preset to your chosen layer, reflecting the beat's current value. The preset boasts various controls, including easings and beat types, offering a wide range of creative possibilities.
Import song & beat info
You should first import a song through the Author Tools Music Library. To do this open Author Tools and click on the Music Library tab. If you don't see the tab enlarge the panel so it can show up. Browse for the song you like, click arrow down button then Import audio info. Choose Add New React when asked and click Import song.

Create beat frequency controls
Beats exist across various frequencies, varying with each song. To accommodate this, we've introduced the Beat Frequency Settings layer in Videobolt. This feature, equipped with user-adjustable controls in the Editor, allows you to select the specific frequency to which the beat should react. Setting this up is straightforward, thanks to our Author Tools.
- Here's how to do it:
This action adds a Dropdown control to your adjustment layer, offering a selection of popular frequencies for precise beat synchronization.

- Here's a streamlined process using the Apply Beat React tool:
This action applies a preset that generates the current beat value, corresponding to the frequency chosen in the Beat frequency range dropdown. To animate your properties in sync with the beat, simply link them (using pick whip) to the Output value at the end of the preset, indicated in red. This connection ensures your properties move in harmony with the beat's rhythm.
